RME participates in industry road mapping session in Washington, DC

December 2, 2009
RME CEO Bill Staby was invited to attend the second gathering of executives from the marine renewable energy industry to further develop “The United States Marine Hydrokinetic Renewable Energy Technology Roadmap.” The session was led by Dr. Robert Thresher, NREL Research Fellow at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Boulder, CO. “The goal of the road-mapping exercise is to facilitate the coordinated development of marine renewable energy technologies and to mobilize the deployment and use of these technologies in the United States,” Mr. Staby said. “It will serve as a means of educating legislators, regulators, project developers and others as to the timing and tasks necessary to achieve a well-defined series of milestones.” Release of the final version of the Roadmap is expected in early 2010.
