RME was officially welcomed as the newest member of the IMERC (Irish Maritime and Energy Resource Center) in Ringiskiddy in a gala celebration held at Cork City Hall on October 16th. “We’re confident our decision to set up operations in Cork is a good one,” Bill Staby said. “Because IMERC is located at the nexus of the National Maritime College of Ireland, the Irish Navy and the soon-to-be-completed Beaufort Research Center, we’ve positioned ourselves in the middle of a maritime innovation hub that will yield great benefits for our company over time.” Staby continued, “We’re also planning to draw on some of the years of accumulated experience in marine renewable energy research & development present in many of the leading Irish universities including University College Cork, Cork Institute of Technology, NUI Galway, Maynooth University and University College Dublin.”
