RME Wins DOE Phase II SBIR Grant

The U.S. Department of Energy today announced that it has awarded Resolute Marine Energy, Inc. a Phase II SBIR grant to continue developing an innovative system for automatically modifying the geometry of wave energy collectors in response to changing wave conditions.
“We’re pleased to be the recipients of continued funding from DOE” Mr. Staby said. “Phase II of this project will be critical in the demonstration of the technical feasibility of a system that may help improve the conversion efficiency, capacity factor and survivability of wave energy converters.” The grant will enable the deployment of an prototype device in Maine in 2011.
