An RME team led by COO Olivier Ceberio delivered its final pitch to a large audience and media gathered at the Massachusetts State House on Boston’s Beacon Hill to witness the finals of the Ignite Clean Energy Competition (now
Cleantech Open). Mr. Ceberio said, “While we didn’t take top prize, we’re pleased to have proven ourselves in one of the most competitive business plan contests in the world.” “What a thrill and what great experience!”
Concurrent with this event and following a presentation made by CEO Bill Staby to a large audience attending the WPI Venture Forum business plan competition in Worcester, MA on Tuesday evening, RME won the “Audience Choice” award yet did not manage to walk away with the top prize of $25,000 which was awarded by a judging panel comprised of three venture capital professionals. Mr. Staby remarked, “We are pleased our message of ‘doing well by doing good’ rings loud and clear but, at the same time, we’re disappointed that venture capital firms are reluctant to play in the socially responsible investment space.”
