Resolute participates in planning and kick-off of the Marine Renewable Energy Consortium (MREC)

Fall River, MA - The Marine Renewable Energy Consortium (www.mrec.umassd.edu) held its inaugural event at the UMASS Dartmouth Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center (ATMC). The day-long meeting, the "Ocean Energy for New England Conference", attracted attendees from industry, government and academia and featured speakers included representatives of the New and Renewable Energy Centre (NaREC) from Newcastle, England (www.narec.co.uk/home.php) and the SuperGen Marine Consortium of Edinburgh, Scotland (www.supergen-marine.org.uk/news.php). MREC seeks to develop a network of technology developers and energy users who will collectively define the needs of the nascent marine renewable energy industry and work to bring together the required technology, capital, infrastructure, and human resources to implement ocean based renewable energy in the most sustainable manner for the region.
