RME commences two weeks of wave tank tests at Alden Research Laboratory in Holden, MA

April 19, 2010
Today RME began two weeks of tests in the wave flume at Alden Lab in Holden, MA. The tests are being conducted pursuant to the DOE SBIR Phase I award RME received in late 2009. RME Senior Engineer Cliff Goudey said; “while development of accurate computational models is one objective of this project, we need to verify their precision by conducting experiments in a controlled environment like the Alden flume tank.” “Alden’s physical testing capabilities and experienced staff have provided an opportunity for us to test a wide range of parameters across hundreds of different experiments.” Founded in 1894, Alden is the oldest continuously operating hydraulic laboratory in the United States and one of the oldest in the world. From the early days of hydropower development and aviation, through World Wars I and II, and into the modern world defined by environmental needs, Alden has been a recognized leader in the field of fluid dynamics consulting
