RME CEO Bill Staby commented, “We’re pleased to assist the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the British Standards Institute (BSI) and the U.S. Department of Energy in organizing this event.” “We’re expecting 60 delegates from over 15 countries to participate in sub-committee meetings during the first three days and in the plenary sessions on the last two days.” “The development of standards that offshore energy project developers, banks and insurance companies can rely on is critical to the advancement of this industry.” About the IEC and TC-114 The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is the body that prepares and publishes international standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies. The role of “Technical Committee” (TC) 114 within the IEC is to prepare international standards for marine energy conversion systems. The primary focus of TC-114 is to develop, publish and maintain such standards for devices that convert wave, tidal and other water current energy into electrical energy, although other conversion methods, systems and products are included as well.
