Resolute to present at the IEEE International Humanitarian Technology Conference

June 5th, 2017

Resolute Marine has been selected by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) to present a paper entitled “Demonstration of a Wave-powered Desalination System in Cape Verde” at the International Humanitarian Technology Conference (IHTC) which is being held in Toronto on July 20 – 21, 2017. RME CEO Bill Staby said “As our project in Cape Verde moves forward thanks to funding provided by the African Development Bank, we are pleased to give periodic updates at prestigious conferences like the IHTC.”
About the IHTC: The IHTC focuses on humanitarian applications of technology in the general areas of technologies for improving the lives of underserved peoples (including aboriginal/indigenous peoples), technologies for the disabled, health-related technologies, humanitarian engineering educational programs, and technologies to assist in disaster situations. The conference features outstanding keynote speakers, workshops, a student paper competition and peer-reviewed papers.
About Resolute Marine: Resolute Marine Energy (RME) is preparing to deploy a unique technology that harnesses ocean wave energy to produce fresh water and electricity in “off grid” areas of the world. The company’s initial focus is on significantly improving access to water and electricity for coastal populations and industrial/agricultural operations in developing countries and small island developing states. RME’s Wave2OTM technology is a cost effective, highly scalable “renewable water” solution that enables water resource managers to align water supply and water demand in areas that would otherwise be overlooked. In these areas, Wave2OTM has compelling economic advantages over both large-scale, centralized desalination plants and smaller-scale diesel-driven desalination systems.
